BLUE CREEK TRAIL BOSS AXE

$59.95

Blue Creek Trail Boss Axe

A great trail axe for the price. Straight grain American Hickory handle(considered the best wood for an axe). 1055 Carbon drop forged steel blade(quality steel that holds an edge but can still be hand sharpened with a file). A very sturdy axe with a great head design. The Hudson’s Bay Head 2 pound head design (what some call European or Montreal pattern), is a broad blade but not too thick at the bite, so as to be an ideal blade for clearing trail and limbing and general use. Some Hudson Bay axes have a very thin blade but the Trail Boss blade has just enough width to allow splitting of firewood as well as deep penetration when cutting through logs. When chopping through a sizable log tests have shown this broad blade pattern will cut through slightly quicker and deeper faster than the standard head designs of the premium Grans Fors and Wetterlings forest axes.  Overall length 28″.

The Trail boss axe handle feels great but does not have as refined a shape as the Grans Fors, Wetterling, or other trail axes that cost over 120.00, but it is compares very favorably at less than half the price!

NOTE: if you are comparing axes with fiberglass or metal handles you will not have the same feel as wood. Wood is warm and friendly to the touch and a wood handle absorbs shock the best. If you break a handle under normal use we will replace it – just pay the postage.
